In Peggy's honor, let's continue to

Help the people of Kenya

Our Impact

Together we can work to help some of the most pressing issues facing the people of Kenya.

Peggy Moffatt Straughan visited Kenya many times on Christian Medical Missions helping share her kindness and love with those she could there.  On Peggy’s first trip to Kenya, she befriended a boy named Samuel Karuri or Sammie, in the slums of Nairobi, aka Kibera.  He was her interpreter and they had an instant magical connection.  Peggy helped fund his schooling and helped him to become a nurse midwife.  Sammie is now works full time in the main hospital in Nairobi, has a wife and three children. He is the officer in charge in Kenya for distribution of donation items/supplies.

Peggy visited this shelter on her trips and befriended the shelter staff.  She held classes teaching women how to make healthy baby food from local plants and foods. We have setup this charity to continue her legacy and provide help for the people of Kenya in many ways.

What we focus on

While we know there are so many hardships for the people of Kenya we focus on a few areas we know can make a difference in the lives of the people Peggy touched.

Women's Needs

Girls cannot go to school when menstruating, due to lack of sanitary napkins.  Our goal is to raise funds and ship sanitary napkins that are washable / reusable, along with the pattern to make them there if possible.

Lack of Shoes

The ground is not easy to walk in Kibera, there is not a sewer system or trash pick up.  Without shoes, children are getting worms, cuts, infections and other illnesses.  Our goal is to raise funds, buy shoes and send them to Kenya.

Improve Housing

Homes there are shacks 10ft by 10ft per family, made of aluminum and plastic and are often in disrepair.  The rainy season is causing people who live in damaged homes to live in wet muddy conditions.  The money raised will go to needy families who need supplies to fix their homes.

Other Focuses

Contributing to a home for women in danger, A skills development center to help those unemployed skills to get work. Food! as most eat only one meal a day we hope to be able to provide as many meals as possible, also medicines such as deworming medicine, they always need books and school supplies. If more needs come to our attention we would love to provide as much as we can!
